Here, you can learn about the origin of Kumaishi’s name, the daily life of the Ainu people, and more. The museum’s collection holds of 2,204 items, of which around 250 are on display, including excavated articles such as the “Earthen Figure with Agate from the Ayukawa Site (Replica)” and “Plate-like Earthen Figure”, and historical materials and dioramas such as “The Monshoan Incident and Zen Master Hakugan” and “The Battle of Hakodate and Kumaishi”.
